New drawings by Anna Cho-Son, The Other One Never Waits, documents hidden messages and revelations in the desire for and threat of intimacy between bodies.

Cho-Son’s figurative drawings mimic anatomical drawings from systematic biological experiments by the Japanese Annexation of Corea and Corean subjects. Entangled by the “colonial cut,” new drawings attempt to re-imagine and re-draw the terms of self, subjectivity, and the utterance of ‘I’. 

Anna Cho-Son is an artist and writer based in LA. Her work charts physical, psychological, and metaphysical immanence arising from shared global histories and fates. She holds a B.A. in Fine Arts and minor in Food Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles (2021) and is a graduate of the Alternative Food and Art M.A. program by The Gramounce.
